How to Create Payment Request Forms

Once you've done the set up to use Payment Requests, you'll need to create the forms to actually put them to use!

In this article, we'll show you how to create Payment Request Forms.

Remember that you can create one Active Payment Request Form per Donation / Opportunity Record Type.

1. Go to Payment Request Forms

You can do this from the Shortcut in the Fundraising Hub

2. Click New

New

On this page, you'll also see a list of all Payment Request Forms you've created and whether or not they're Active!

3. Fill in the details!

Payment Request Form Setup
  1. Payment Request Form Name: Give the form a name; we suggest putting the name of the record type in the name for clarity
  2. Active: Make sure this is checked so that the form can be used
  3. Record Type: Select the Donation / Opportunity Record Type that this form connects to. Do not select parent Record Types (such as Grant, Group Sale, or Pledge). Since Payment Requests collect payments, forms only need to be created for payment Record Types, such as Grant Payment, Group Sale Payment, and Pledge Payment.
  4. From Email Address: The Organization-Wide Address used to send the templates
  5. Request Notification Template: The email template used to request payment and provide the payment link
  6. Confirmation Template: The email template used to confirm that payment was made
  7. Confirmation Page Message: The message that appears onscreen after payment is made
  8. Theme Name: Options for a baseline look and feel for the form
    • Chromatic
      • Overall: bright
      • Background color: white
      • Site header: white background with a strip of brand 1 color across the top, overlaid logo
      • Buttons and links: uses brand 1 color
      • Large header text: uses custom font in brand 2 color, with a separator bar below in brand 1 color. Left-aligned.
      • Small header text: uses custom font in black
    • Cinematic
      • Overall: dark
      • Background color: uses brand 2 color
      • Site header: brand 2 color background with a strip of brand 1 color across the top, overlaid logo
      • Buttons and links: uses brand 1 color
      • Large header text: uses custom font in white, with a white separator bar below. Centered.
      • Small header text: uses custom font in white
    • Moderne
      • Overall: bright
      • Background color: white
      • Site header: brand 2 color background with a strip of brand 1 color across the top, overlaid logo
      • Buttons and links: uses brand 1 color
      • Large header text: uses custom font in black, with a black separator bar below. Centered.
      • Small header text: uses custom font in black
  9. Font Family: The family for the font you wish to use from Google Web Fonts (see below for more details)
  10. Font URL: The URL for the font you wish to use from Google Web Fonts (see below for more details)
  11. Brand 1: The hex code for the color you wish to use for Brand 1 (see above for how these are used)
  12. Brand 2: The hex code for the color you wish to use for Brand 2 (see above for how these are used)
  13. Save!

To match the look and feel of your Public Ticketing Site, simply select the same theme settings configured in the PTS Theme Builder!

3.1. Go to Google Web Fonts

3.2. If you know the name of the font, search for it in the search bar; otherwise, narrow down your choices with the filters on the left sidebar

3.3. Once you find your font, click into it

3.6. Grab the Font URL and Font Family

  1. The Font URL is in the "Embed code in the <head> of your html" section after "<link href=" within the quotation marks up until the name of the font (highlighted in yellow above)
  2. The Font Family is in the "CSS class for a variable style" section as the "font-family" (highlighted in blue above)

Use these steps to create any other Payment Request Forms you need

Remember: You can have one Active Payment Request Form per Donation / Opportunity Record Type!
