Enable and Configure Virtual Events: https://help.patronmanager.com/a/1278215

Before you can start using Virtual Events, you'll need to set the feature up in your account. In this article, we'll show you how to:

  1. Activate the feature
  2. Create pre-show emails for livestreams
  3. Follow Virtual Event discussions in the Client Community

Let's get started!

1. Activate Virtual Events

Mobile tickets must be enabled to take advantage of Virtual Events.

If you haven't already done so, enable mobile tickets now!

1.1. Click Edit in PatronTicket Settings

1.2. Check the box to enable Virtual Events, then save!

You'll find this checkbox in the "Event Settings" section, here:

2. Create livestream pre-show email template(s)

We highly recommend sending pre-show emails for livestreams, so that patrons have easy access to their ticket link right when they need it.

Be sure to include the Mobile Ticket Link merge field in your template!

Pro tip: you can set a custom pre-show email by Event Instance.

If you have both standard and virtual Event Instances in the same Ticketable Event, this is handy so that your virtual event pre-show templates can be specific!

3. Follow the Virtual Events topic on the Client Community

There's a discussion topic in the Client Community for organizations using Virtual Events! This is a great place to learn from each other, ask questions, and see what other organizations are doing.

We encourage conversation here - don't be afraid to jump in and ask questions of your peers.

Note that a previous version of Virtual Events was retired and replaced in June 2026. Conversations prior to that date may reference features and functionality that no longer exist.

Here's how to find and follow the topic in the Community:

3.1. Search for "Virtual Events" and click the topic result

3.2. Click "Follow"
