Gain New Insights with the Membership Hub
The new Membership Hub brings together key membership metrics and trends in one place, making it easier to monitor performance and identify opportunities for growth.
The Membership Hub includes elements designed to help you:
- Understand membership performance at a glance, including current member counts and year-to-date revenue
- Monitor recent activity, including renewal reminders and auto-renewing memberships
- Track membership trends over time with year-over-year reporting
- Easily find tips and suggestions to grow your memberships
Whether you're preparing for a board meeting or reviewing the health of your membership program, the Membership Hub provides quick access to the information you need most.
This improvement follows a similar overhaul of the Fundraising Hub in our previous release. If you haven't seen that yet, check it out!
New Tools to Help Deter Unauthorized Ticket Resellers
This release introduces two new features designed to help you discourage unauthorized ticket resale and provide patrons with additional clarity about ticket validity and purchase policies. You can use these features independently, or use both together.
Delayed Access to Mobile Tickets
You can now control when emailed tickets become available to patrons after purchase by specifying how many hours before a performance tickets should appear online. Buyers will receive the link in their confirmation email as normal, but the page won't display their tickets until the time you specify.
This added flexibility can help reduce speculative resale activity and may also be useful when event details are still being finalized at the time tickets go on sale.
Pro tip: if you discover a suspicious Ticket Order before tickets are released, you can change the Delivery Method to Will Call to prevent tickets ever becoming visible online.
The online ticket page will say that tickets can't be shown because the Delivery Method is Will Call. Legitimate patrons can pick up their tickets in person, while resellers won't have anything to give their buyer.
This release includes a change to ensure that tickets cannot be delivered by email accidentally. If you wish to manually email non-virtual tickets, the Delivery Method on that Ticket Order must first be set to "Email".
Changing the Delivery Method away from "Email" will show the above message for any existing ticket links for non-virtual tickets, but this will not invalidate any tickets that have already been printed from the mobile ticket page or added to the patron's mobile wallet.
Reseller Warnings
You can now add custom messaging to the online ticket page and mobile wallet tickets to inform patrons that tickets obtained through unauthorized channels may not be valid.
These warnings can help discourage resellers, encourage patrons to purchase through official channels, and provide an opportunity for ticket buyers to contact the box office with questions before arriving at the venue.
Collect Opportunity Payments Online with Payment Requests
Payment Requests make it easier to collect payments online for Opportunities, including Facility Rentals, Pledge Payments, Group Sale Payments - you can use them for any Opportunity!
With Payment Requests, you can:
- Send secure, amount-specific payment requests directly to recipients
- Allow recipients to complete payments online using a dedicated payment page
- Customize email templates for requesting and confirming payments
- Customize the payment request page by Opportunity Record Type
This feature helps you streamline payment collection and provide a more convenient experience for both your staff and your patrons.
Virtual Events, Revisited
As we've previously communicated if you've used Virtual Events in the past, Leap has decided to retire the Streaming Service that was previously integrated with PatronManager to host Virtual Events.
We've taken this opportunity to revisit the feature and upgrade it for today's world. With this change, all PatronManager clients can ticket livestream and video-on-demand experiences using externally hosted content (e.g. on a service like Vimeo or even your own website).
Patrons with valid tickets will access Virtual Events through the familiar mobile ticket experience. PatronManager will track viewing activity by automatically checking in tickets, ensuring that you can report on viewership and interest for grant applications and similar needs.
If you used Virtual Events with the legacy feature that existed up until this release, there are a couple steps you'll need to take to migrate to the new version.
Customize Pre-Show Emails by Event Instance
You can now override default pre-show email templates at the Event Instance level, giving you more flexibility to tailor communications for specific performances.
This enhancement makes it easier to customize messaging for situations such as:
- Livestream versus in-person performances
- Family-focused performances
- Sensory-friendly events
- Performances with unique details or know-before-you-go requirements
Settings that control timing and post-show email templates are still set globally and/or at the Ticketable Event level. Suggest a Product Idea if you'd like more granular control for this!
Additional Enhancements and Fixes
This release also includes a variety of enhancements and reliability improvements throughout PatronManager.
Apple Wallet Ticket Updates
Apple Wallet tickets now update automatically to reflect changes such as exchanges, refunds, and event edits.
Discount Codes for Event Builder Templates
You can now associate Discount Codes with Event Builder Templates, helping you easily build out events with season-long discounts.
In case you missed it: the Event Builder makes it easy to quickly schedule bulk or repeating Event Instances, with all your Allocations and Price Levels ready to go and the correct dates intact. Check it out!
That's all for this release!
